Into storage, out of storage, or between units
Three jobs sit under one heading here. Taking a load from your home into a unit, emptying a unit back into a house or flat, and shifting everything from one site to another when the price or the size stops suiting you. All three are quoted the same way, on the volume and the access at each end.
The direction matters more than it sounds. Loading into a unit wants the things you will need soonest left at the front, and emptying one wants the van packed in the order the rooms are going to fill.
Working to the site's access hours
Storage sites run their own gate hours, and some close the loading bay well before reception shuts. We check the access window before the day and set the arrival time inside it, because a van that turns up twenty minutes after the shutters drop is a wasted booking for both of us.
Tell us the site and your unit number when you ask for a quote. A lift, a trolley bay or a drive-up door each change the crew and the timing, and all of them are better known in advance than discovered on the morning.
Packing a unit so it stays usable
A badly packed unit costs you every month, because you end up renting space you cannot reach. We load with a walkway down one side, the heavy and flat pieces to the back, and the boxes you are likely to want kept where you can actually get at them.
Mattresses and upholstery go in covered rather than bare, and wooden pieces are blanketed. Not every site is climate controlled, and a wrapped sofa comes out in the condition it went in.
What a storage job costs
The price comes from the size of the load, the access at the home end, the access at the unit, and the distance between them. You get one figure agreed before we lift anything, with no hourly meter running while we wait for a lift.
Send us the rough contents, the storage site and your postcode and we will come back with a price. If you are still choosing between sites, say so, because some are far easier to load at than others.
